I am writing this post slumped in the glorious July sunshine, sipping an ice tea and slowly scorching my skin. The last thing that should be on my mind is Christmas. However, a plethora of baubles, mince pies and veuve cliquot are flowing through my imagination and I am aware that once I return from my blissful summer holiday, the christmas booking season will be upon me.
So… When should I book my christmas party entertainment? The answer to the question is simple. It is NEVER too early to start planning your christmas party. December is a month of mayhem, chaos and celebrated indulgence. The last thing you want to be doing, when queuing in store for a personalised tin of festive baked beans is panicking about your party or event entertainment.
In short… Book it NOW!
Get what you want!
No matter how big or small your party or event you need to be organised. There is no question that unless you book in advance you will not get what you want at the price you choose to pay.
Leaving your entertainment booking until the last minute is the same as waiting to order your turkey until christmas eve. It will be overpriced and under whelming.
The only way to ensure that you get the band and/or entertainers that you want is to book them as soon as you have your party date arranged. December is the busiest month for every artist in the industry. If a band is great, they will get booked up way in advance. It’s not rocket science. The only way to get what you want is to do it today.

Pay what you want!
Christmas is an expensive time of year for us all, so the last thing you want to do is pay over the odds for your entertainment.
By booking in advance, you can set a realistic budget and take some extra time to ensure that you are paying a fair price for the artist you choose.
Do acts inflate their prices for December?
There is no definitive answer to this. Some do, some do not. If your party or event is on New Years Eve, Christmas Eve or Christmas day then you should expect to pay an increased fee. The majority of workers in service will be paid time and a half or double salary on these dates, your entertainers will expect the same courtesy. Always ensure that you have a fixed fee in place and a contract stating the payment terms.
If you leave booking your entertainment until a few weeks before your party, you may end up paying a higher fee, due to supply and demand and utter desperation.
Book sooner to avoid disappointment and ensure you have the budget available.
